Going to write a blog post about this at some point when I’m not so busy. Needless to say, I’m excited and honored to be chosen along with my campus-mate, John Fernandez. This puts us in line for the USA Today All USA Academic Team. It’s nice to be recognized for your academic achievements. I know that my mother, husband, and grandparents are doing fist-pumps in heaven. They wanted me to go to college so badly. This is for them. :D

Two SPC students have been selected for the 2012 Phi Theta Kappa All-Florida Academic First Team and six have been named to the second team. Each year, outstanding students in the Florida College System are recognized for their academic achievements, leadership and service to the community. Students will be recognized at a luncheon at Valencia College’s West Campus Special Events Center on Thursday, April 5. Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for two-year colleges.

Alistair Glover, 24, is a chemistry student in the St. Petersburg Honors College at the Clearwater Campus. Glover serves as President of the Student Government Association at the Clearwater Campus. He is a former president (April 2011-January 2012) of the Tau Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and remains an active member.
